Trolling is an art form, and there are a lot of things to know about it. I will cover all of those things on this site. If you need help with anything else, ask me. Contact me as darien_wilde@sbcglobal.net

3.) The Board Elitist/Vet: This is the user who's been on the internet since the dawn of time. He has no friends, and has been dealing with trolls for so long that he's sick and tired of them. He is harsh and mean towards anyone who's not a regular, as a result of years of board invasions and people that are new casuing problems occasionally. He's incredibly mean, and there are normally 3 or 4 of them on the board. They always feel they own the board, and its everything to them. They will yield to no one but the board leader, and can understand this silly hierarchy that no one else sees because they've been around so long.

Tips on how to deal with him: There first line of defense is whining to the moderators. They will run to message board help if the site has one, or complain to the mods in general. To combat this, either tone down things that can get you in trouble while still trolling, or have some buddies help confirm that you aren't a troll. Remember, these guys complain so much, that the moderators themselves probably don't like them, and have very little respect for them to begin with. You can probably get the mods off your back or to ignore the situation for a very long time with the right wording. After the mods don't help them, there next action will be contacting you via instant messaging. There are 2 ways to handle this. Either respond to them, and troll them via aim as well, or ignore them, which will actually make them angrier. You should probably just ignore them unless you are a high level troll. Finally, when they see the end is near, and they can't get rid of you, they will start to tell the other users to ignore you. This never works. Eventually, after they realize this, they will start to say angry or sarcastic remarks at you in topics. Ignore it or troll them, twist there words. Now they will get angry, and start to flame you and violate the tos they find so sacred. This is your moment. If you can keep up the pace, and get these guys banned, it saps board morale, especially if its on a system where the users accounts age means something, in which a banning will devastate them. They will then sometimes post suicide topics, or "I'm leaving" topics, which means they're leaving for a few days until they can't take being away from there precious board anymore. If they really do leave, they probably killed themselves, these guys won't leave until they can't come back, but they're the most fun people to troll, so its enjoyable. Actually, I take that back, they might leave if they other vets agree to find another place to post together. This hurts there pride though, and they seldom do it. If they do however, find the new board, and troll it. This will result in them getting themselves banned from snapping 9 out of 10 times.
